You have lots of help in that thread. I learned many new recipies in it. FYI, the last I checked this is a picture thread and not your personal BS thread that you have tried to make it out to be. How bout less talk and more pics of DC's?

^^^ my posse!!!

lol

well, i bought my integra from a guy and he said that the motor was blown. he said it started to overheat and he drove it for 10 minutes and when he got to a mechanic shop all the coolant leaked out. he said a mechanic looked at it and told him to get the car a new motor, it will cost like $5000. so he sold it to me for $1500. its a 2000 ls with 210k.

so i was really bored at work and i thought about what he said. so i told myself... if the motor is blown i have nothing to loose. i went to put coolant in the radiator, and it was full. so i scratched my head and said screw it!

i turned the key and she started right up. she idled perfectly so i took her for a spin. she works fine.

the check engine light is on, and the abs light is on... thats it. so after driving her for 30 minutes i let her sit for a few minutes. the temp started to slowly go up... so i shut her off.

here is what i think might be the problem...

1. thermostat is inop
2. coolant needs to be bled
3. fan isnt working (i dont recall it turning on)

what do you all think?

i doubt the coolant needs to be bled....i ran my car with water for months.
i would guess the thermo is inop. those are cheap and if they dont fix the problem all you did was replace something small.
if the coolant is full its not the headgasket i imagine or else it would be burning it off. sadly a diagnostic check at the dealer might not be a bad 45 buck spent

first off, the abs lights always come on in integras.... they get low on fluid usualy. 2nd i would let the car run for a little bit, when the temp starts to rise just above half way check ur fan to see if its running..........sounds to me like the guy had it and ran it hot then blew a head gasket....

my question is, y do u have to come into this thread and be a total douche?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Brice.Hayden &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">why? most mixtures are half water anyways....in the winter when the operating temp doesnt really get that hot, the water won't evaporate. if u dont know what ur talking about then dont speak.

Coolant does two things

1. it keeps the water from freezing and 2. it increases the boiling point

so u running straight water actualy increases ur chance of over heating.
dont belive me, then look it up.
