Re: Zc questions
All the info I have on boosted dohc ZC's is the head is *not* better than SOHC's, especially if you change the cam. Thats not just power production, but also upgrade/build price.
The issues with cams for a ZC is the price and exchanging low/mid range for topend. Regrinds are usually $150/ea, which is more than a name-brand SOHC cam. Also most VTEC cams end up with faster spool and better top end, as you can have different overlap amounts for low/hi cam lobes. W/o a variable cam you can't achieve that. I have no idea about valve springs/retainers in your case, that's another issue.
If you really want to build the ZC, the sohc rods should work, but the ZC chaimbers are big vs SOHC. A normal turbo piston would yeild 7:1. You'd want the 10:1 pistons most companies sell. -3cc would get you ~8:1, +3cc would be ~9:1.
In short, an A6 would be easier to deal with, as would a Z6/Y8. I steer away from Y8 oil pumps, though.

Re: Zc questions
don't build it just yet. Boost it on stock internals then decide if you want to stick with dohc or sohc. I made 247 on stock internals and made more on open downpipe. Ran good for a year and ended up selling my car.
