Default Zach's LS-T Build Thread

Well I decided to start a journal for my friends build. A little history.

The car is a clean 1993 Civic Si. 116,000 on the body, 80k on the current b18b1. We boosted the car about a year ago. It made 270whp/233wtq on 9psi. About two months ago we decided we were going to build a forged bottom end as well as a head with a nice valvetrain and retune on e85. This thread will document the whole motor build and swap. Any comments and concerns would be greatly appreciated.

Who says 18 year olds can't build clean cars?

Specs on the build

Block:

-b18b1 bottom end bored to 81.5mm
-Wiseco 9.6:1 pistons
-Eagle H beam rods
-ACL Race bearings
-Micropolished Crank
-New GSR Oil Pump
-New GSR Water Pump

Head:
-Crower 402 cams
-Crower Dual Valvesprings
-Crower Titanium Retainers
-Fresh OEM Valve Seals
-OEM Headgasket
-ARP Headstuds
-New Timing Belt

Turbo Setup:
-Garret t3/t04e .63 ar
-Ramhorn Manifold
-Tial 38mm Wastegate
-Greddy Type RS BOV
-Precision 1000cc injectors
-AEM Fuel Rail
-Walbro 255
-Competition Clutch Stage 5
-GM 3 Bar MAP
-Hondata s300
-e85

Some pics of the car.

Valve Cover off to swap to another temporarily while we paint the current one.

Pistons Installed

Reinstalling Valve springs/retainers after new Valve seals

Headstuds in

Head torqued to block. Valve cover is just primered and timing belt tensioner is just sitting where it needs to be.

At this point, the swap will begin this weekend. The valve cover is now painted. We still need to install the cams/rockers/caps/gears into the head and install the crank pulley and timing belt. Stay tuned for pictures of the swap and completion of the motor!

Nice build!! It's going to be really similar to mine, so I'll keep track and see how it's going!

Thanks for all the comments. Made some progress the past two days. All turbo components removed, all fuel, vac, and coolant lines disconnected, harness disconnected, shift linkage out. The bitch pin took forever but we got clever with a tool and it came out easily after that. Also removed both axles. Everything is good to go.

Just waiting on our access to a lift tomorrow and it'll be out. And then the new heart goes in. Should have it running soon. Ill toss some pics up of the progress here soon.

Well, she Runs! Swap went smooth. Wouldnt start upon first sartup and the starter ended up being the culprit. It runs perfect now. Ill be uploading pictures of the swap here soon as well as the car complete.

And you gotta have the famous stand in your engine bay picture.
