Yes, i understand how and why intercoolers work and make more power. I have not tested them back to back at that power level, so i can not answer your question. Try them both and let me know.

Tony, now that your car in the 9's and you have all the money and those fancy toys, what else are you going to do? You might as well test cheap intercoolers!

Tony, you're forgetting the fact that most cars are driven to shops, sit for a while in the parking lot, pull onto the dyno, sit some more while being strapped down, etc. If a turbo/manifold/downpipe/etc won't heat soak an intercooler, what will?
I agree that a better flowing core will make a world of difference. You just make it sound like a better flowing intercooler will only help you at the track. It should definitely show some difference on a dyno as well.

The 250+ deg air going through the core of an intercooler at high boost is what heat soaks it the most. 250+ deg air for 3 seconds, or 11 seconds, which one do you think will heat soak the core more?

I'm not at all saying that it'll only help you on the track, i'm saying that the difference in heat soak is much more obvious at the track.

Yeah they are fine for most street setups. I think tony is saying if your shooting for big numbers and low times ( drag car and big turbo setups,) then these intercoolers aren't the best choice.

my personal experience with the intercoolers ,,yonaka,,,spearco,,,presicion owning all three on high boost high whp setups the hp diference has been MINIMAL...and also my car has seen higher temps at a dyno then at the track being the track is 1 pass and the car sits for 2 hours beetween rounds at the dyno im their for hours at a time and pull after pull with no in between time sitting around my under hood temp get hoter..

You aren't getting it. Hotter under hood temps are nothing compared to the 250+ deg air going through your intercooler. Do you understand that at 30psi the average air temp at the outlet of a turbo is over 300 degrees F.? The amount of time "in boost" is the main factor in determining heat soak on an intercooler. You're "in boost" longer on the track than you are on the dyno.

ok so im at the track and make a pass and the intercooler sees 30 psi for 10 seconds , that compared to on a dyno the car sees 30 psi for lets say 7 seconds but it sees that 7 second x however many dyno pulls you could do in 5 minutes im sure the i/c will see temps well into the 250 degree area also
