I researched them alot and haven't seen anything but good reviews. For the price you can't go wrong.

I believe Chris (Xenocron) sells them, in a 6" and 9" application. He should have some in stock too I believe. The 9" looks sick on his DA.

PM him..

They're big, and they're cheap, but they suck compared to garrett cores. If you're not trying to make a ton of power, then they're probably fine. If you are trying to make big power, i'd suggest something a little better.

lets say you are making low 700whp with the yonanka what do you think you will make by just switching to a garret core???

I'd be less surprised to see a 30whp gain by switching than i would be to see an honest 700whp honda with a Yonaka intercooler! lol

Another thing about intercoolers, you can get away with a small intercooler on the dyno because the pull is very short, they don't have much time at all to get heat soaked. This is one reason you don't often see cars MPH what the dyno numbers say they should. It's not uncommon to loose 30-50hp on the track from heat soaking an ic. The bigger more efficient cores are going to maintain a more stable temperature going down the track.

agreed with tony, tired of seeing people pay 200 for an IC when my old core alone was 500.00 minus endtanks.

When you say "good core" and "flow is great", what are you basing that on?

That's strange, my guess would've been that cars cool better outside vs. being in a stuffy dyno garage. I have two brand new intercoolers in my basement. One is a tube and fin Type 24 Greddy, and the other is a bar and plate Treadstone 10.5" X 26" X 3.5", which is probably the same as a Yonaka. Which one would you use?

It's not so much about indoor vs. outdoor, it's about time. A dyno pull at high hp only lasts a few seconds. A run at the track lasts 4-5 times that, causing the intercooler to heat soak.

How much power are you shooting for?

I believe the Yonaka's are tube and fin.

I have a 6" Yonaka that I got for a very good price new, plus I'm only shooting for 300whp at most....stock block LS.

OK, that makes sense. I don't want tons of power. Around 400whp? My last dyno run fell short of my expectations of 350whp, probably because of my Greddy Type 31. This time I've made a few changes, including the turbo, but it's just for street.

ok try this option how about a 3,4,5 hundred whp setup with a yonaka ic and you swaped to a garret core what would the whp gains be???
