Default Yet another k24a2 or k24a1 turbo thread....

Before anyone starts flaming, I've done my research (I swear). But I'm just curious about your opinions on some questions/doubts I have.

First of all, the motor will be turbo'd, fully built, and possible mild port and polish on the head. I'm shooting for power figures in the 400-450 range. The car (ep3) is tracked about once every 2 months.

Taking this into consideration, which motor would you guys recommend? BTW, the k24a2 is a little more than double what a k24a1 is going to cost me. Are the oil squirters and "true" vtec worth paying the premium? Even on a forced induction motor?

I'm thinking I can always throw a big cam in the k24a1 at the expense of some low end power since the motor hardly sees less than 5000 at the track anyways.

I'd like the oil squirters, especially for keeping piston temps in check on the track. But I've read from many sources that forged pistons don't really need them, and I can always get the piston tops and skirts coated. Plus they rob a little oil pressure from the turbo...

These are just a couple questions I have that I couldn't find a rock hard answer to. Is the k24a2 worth it? Especially for my plans/goals?

Plus the mandatory honda-tech pic to get everyone's attention...

I thought you said your car was an EP? Your pic displays an EG with a K swap?

400-450 range is stock block territory, no reason to port and polish a head. Dont worry about oil squirters if your going to put in forged internals.
