Default Y7/y8 minime

Hi everybody,

i am new on this forum and i start build a mini-me swap (Y7 block and P2E piston / Y8 vtec head) and i would like to put a stage 1 or 2 camshaft in the Y8 head. But i know that the Y7 piston head notches are not as deep as the Y8. Do anybody have done this setup and know if its possible to do, or the valve clearance not good and the piston will hit the valve.

thanks for youre answer and tips

Yeah what are your goals for the mini me set up? You are not going to get much out of a cam with that compression.

From a cam? Better go read up in the All Motor section and see what it actually takes. This isn't a big V8 where you can slap on a cam, do nothing to tune it, and make 30hp. Stop watching the Speed Channel.

not 150 whp but 150 HP at the flywheels i would like to. And i know that i will not have 150hp just by drop a camshaft inside this head. The setup i'd like to have a the end is to have a Skunk2 intake manifold with a 65mm throttle body, light port and polish, 2 1/4 inches exhaust headers + cat-back exhaust AND a camshaft exhaust + Throttle coolant line bypass and intake manifold head shield gasket. Not to dificult if you know that with the d16y7/d16y8 i should to be close to a Ex civic (127hp)

Nope. Won't get close. Without a tune that manifold will have you running like crap.
