wtf tiny supercharger

Anyone know how that thing works?
Let's avoid getting into boosted 2-stroke theory.

I would assume it's for an RC car because of the site and it works just like a regular supercharger only for a teeny tiny engine.

That's gotta be BS, it's prolly only gonna increase the flow a bit more but I noticed the engine they were using is rear exhaust so they have ports that are more evenly sizes so I guess as the piston travels up it'll act just like a supercharger and have more dense air that will generate more power. I have the supposed "turbo" engine that uses crankcase pressure pulses to pump air into the same area as the supercharger design using a fuel line and a nipple. I am gonna purchase one of these sometime this month and report. It more than likely is a vortec-type(don't remember the name) setup inside.

edit:read the page, seems promising but won't know till I get mine. will be tested on a Traxxas T-Maxx with .46 rear exhaust/Slide carb engine.

That would be the smallest compressor wheel ever. I was thinking it might be a positive displacement...gearrotor or something, i don't know. If anyone has one i want to see internal pictures.

The other applications are on different engine styles. IMO, it may not be very efficient, but I bet with changes in porting it could be very efficient, a small exhaust port and a larger intake port

Hey, I'll be cracking it open the day I get it! I gotta see this compared to a Vortec Supercharger I have laying here lol! Hey question, Any reason this couldn't work on say an four-stroke nitro engine? like valve overlap or anything I'd have to worry about cause this seems to be made for 2-stroke but we all know they work perfect on our cars....

RC cars..they run on nitro not nitrous. I have a traxxas nitro stampede with a .15ci motor..runs on 20%.

I think he means the actual nitrous setups for sale on that site
I quit putting money into my rc car awhile ago, it turns into an addiction, but then I realized it was a toy

Very true, I went from cars, planes, trucks, helis,.....lost coutlesss thousands and ater about 9 years said "Wtf my CC is maxxed out" all RC Helicopter debt. man though I used to alway wish they had real superchargers back then but now it'll be neat as hell. I'm glad I held on to at least one old toy. I'lll do a mini tear down of the superchager lol. should be fun.

Ha i did the same...but the nitrous kit from Nitrousexpress for rc cars looks pretty neat.

They won't work simply because there is no way to add the added fuel to the motor when the "boost" comes on. It relies on exhuast pressure to fuel the motor so there will be a delay from the time it makes more boost and the time more fuel gets there. The only way that you make more power is from the temporary lean condition that you created which is killing the motor pretty quick.
I have raced nitro off road on a semi pro level for 6 years and have as much money in 1/8 scale off road as a lot of people have their Hondas. It's a hell of an addiction but I don't see the point in putting a wannabe FI setup in a 200 dollar motor that will still get drug by my 400 dollar race motor and mine will live longer and in the end, it still cost the same between the two.
Rant off, sorry, I just see companies like them and NX as taking advantage of some younger kids who are influenced by the import movement and drop all their hard earned lawn mowing money (or their parents money) onto parts that won't make power of kill the parts they have one of the two.
