Hey guys, My firend took his car out racing last night and the tach just died. THe speedo works fine, so the SS is outta the checklist. I thought taht maybe it was the distributor or something in the distributor. He has a 96 EX with JDM b16 and jun valvetrain and cams. What could this be. It has me stumped. Could it possibly be something in the distributor?

Go out and buy a 2-$3 12V test light. See if there's any signal coming into the tach wire at the back of the gauge cluster and move on from there, you could spend days guessing and replacing the wrong parts.
