Default wrapped headers and egt's

I've noticed that after wrapping my header, my EGT's are climbing much faster, and actually going higher before they stabilize at WOT. I used to see 1250-1350deg/f at WOT, and now I'm seeing 1400+

Now the plugs look good, maybe a bit rich if anything, but I'm worried that these high temps are going to cause serious issues on a newly built motor. On the other hand, most tuners don't bother with egt's since they fluctuate so much. And without signs of detonation, the motor is telling me to keep going.

What's a guy to do?
Should I worry about the egt's, or continue to read the plugs and tune that way?

BTW, I'm using an FJO wideband, and Hondata 4b. The motor is a b18c sleeved and bored to 84mm (1.9L), and right now it's NA. The jrsc is bolted on, but no boost is coming through. The wideband reads anywhere from 14-15.8 at 20-40% throttle, at 2000-4000rpm, until it climbs to low 13's, high 12's at both high rpm, and high load.
VTEC is off so I can perfect the non-VTEC map.

I dont think the problem is related to the wrapping, afaik wrapping the manifold wouldnt make temps inside the combustion chambers hotter.

it should be normal. when the manifold wasn't wrap, the heat escapes through the metal, thus lowering the temp. when u wrapped it, the heat have no where to go, so it gets hotter.

that's exactly what I thought.
Since the heat is relatively trapped inside the pipe, it goes past the EGT sensor hot as hell, instead of cooling, then hitting the sensor.

I'm sure my A/F was a bit lean at the time, thus the reason the EGT's were climbing so fast, I was hoping that the heat being kept inside the pipe would be a cause too.
