Default Would this be my rings?

Could these pictures so that my rings are blown? The car has not been driven yet with the turbo on. I noticed this during the install. It is a ZC so the miles are most likely unknown. Here is a picture to the manifold after the car has been started a few times. There is also a picture of the old gasket. Thanks guys

P.s. There has not been a compression test done yet.

Also forgot to add that when i last changed the plugs, they were soaked in oil.....

Possibly, or your valve seals.

Do a compression test, that'll be the easiest way to find out.

My manifold looks exactly the same, oil all over the place. I'm not losing that much so I don't worry about it.

yeah, hope and pray it's your seals...much easier to swap out than rings lol.

remember to go ahead and have the head dipped and the guides checked if it's seals...

and lap the valves before putting it all back together makes for a much happier engine

i had that same problem. oil in cylinder 1 and 3. it burned a lot of oil. thought it was rings and turned out to be valve seals.

finally got to sears to buy a compression tester.... here are the results.....

first test
1- 190
2- 190
3- 185
4- 190

second test
1- 190
2- 185
3- 180
4- 185

from what i have read the first test would be higher because of the oil in the cylinders.

Now i conclude, that this is my valve seals
should be replacing them soon
tips welcome
