Default Wiring electronic boost controller

what do you guys connect the "ignition on" wire to? I was thinking sharing it with the radio but i don't want the radio to blow a fuse then the boost controller turns off and might messed something up. HELP?!

what kind of car is it? one easy way is to plug into optional connector above fuse panel. for safety reason always use inline fuse before electronic you might want to preserve (amps - check ebc manual it should say how many it needs)

That is an easy way....using the radio fuse. There's no need to worry about the radio blowing a fuse and then something getting messed up on the boost controller. I say this because if the boost controller has it's own dedicated fuse port and that the fuse blows, then you would still have that same worry.

if the radio fuse blows, wouldnt the wastegate run off the spring? should i connect it with the radio ignition on and put a bigger fuse? for an EG hatch also i dont think the my ebc has its own fuseport. it's an blitz sbc-id

just in case someone runs into this problem, there is a port on the underdash fusebox that gets key power use a female connector and it slides on. it's the one on the far right looking straight.

i believe that is accessory power...not ignition but i could be wrong.
anytime i wire anything in i hook up the new piece to the heavier 12 gauge wires coming from the ignition switch and fuse them separately.

for the love of god do not hook to the radio wire just cuz it's convenient!
you'll be back on here posting a new thread that would prolly read as follows...
HELP!!! every time i hit boost my radio turns off

mmmm that wouldn't happen haha. That fuse port will provide the exact same power as the ignition switch you wire into. It does work.

HAHA I know....but i digress....

don't hook to the radio wire....it's accessory power not ignition.
and if the radio fuse did blow you wouldn't be able to regulate boost properly and you'd just be running on the wastegate spring...meaning you might be overboosting more often.
accessory power drops out during crank....ignition stays at 12 volts+.
notice how your radio doesn't work while trying to turn the motor over?
if you're gonna hook it to the open port in the fusebox then just make sure you fuse it separately too!!!

I agree with parts of that too but I have two questions:

1.) Are you actually boosting when you're turning the car on?
2.) Say the fuse did blow and you were then running off the wastegate spring. The boost controller would be used to run more than the wastegate spring would allow; therefore, you'd be running less boost and have less of a chance at overboosting.

I'm not trying to be an *** man...I just enjoy analyzing a good argument

#1...usually no boost on start up..... rofl
#2...say you have a 14# spring and you are on stock internals and do not want to run more than 7 or 10 #s...you're gonna get overboost and a hefty repair bill

for an argument analyst

tip of the day: you can NOT run a less amount of boost then your wg spring.

so you're tellin me that you can't set up your **** with a 14# spring
setup the rest of your **** to run 6-7# off the line so you don't smoke the **** outa the tires and then boost to 14#once traction is realized?????

Nope.

whatever your spring is, is the smallest amount of boost you can run. I think that's where the confusion was when Dunc was stating his side....which I agree with. My boost controller is setup on the ignition switch, but anyone could do it to the accessory line with no worries.

dturbocivic analyzed it already for me, thanks man.

But you have the wiring/fuse box underneath the dash board for it.
