Default will port and polish make a differant

just like the post says will port and polish make a diff. I am getting new valves. I am doing the work myself to save $$ now I can't loss the car for a month now will it make a diff. I can send it to be polished in march that is when I can take out the bike and use that.

I personally feel that polishing is over-rated. Porting is a good idea.. but the best thing is to port while trying to achieve max air velocity instead of volume. Machining of the valves and bowl area to produce swirls is a great thing for combustion.. just dont spend all your money on headwork if you're going turbo cuz in reality, N/A cars get more benefit from headwork.

a ported head on a turbo car will yield a bigger power gain

i think it is a no brainer that porting on a turbo car WILL yield some gains.. but if you compare the percentage gained on a turbo car vs a NA car, you'll see that money is better spent porting the NA car.. leaving you with more money to fool with management systems for the turbo.
