I installed my btm in my crx today and it runs great. However, is it normal to be able to hear the increased sparks? I can hear my sparkplugs clicking from inside my car. thanks.

thats pretty weird. I never had any clicking sounds with my 6btm and regular btm. I dont think it should do that.

 

how is the spark increased when the sole purpose of it is to retard the timing? and no, mine is quite, my dsm injectors are loud though...

 

its an msd btm...which increases spark along with retarding timing.

 

umm...I don't think there is any way you could hear the spark since it's inside the engine...it's either your injectors, your valves (which would suck) or something else is screwed up. I installed my 6btm and it ran great for about two minutes, then the stock coil burnt out, but after I installed an MSD it was fine and makes no noise.

Maybe something is hitting inside your dist cap, since you obviously opened it up?

you hear it through the speakers...msd makes a power isolator for it. like $50 or something at summit.

too bad after my swap i can hear my alternator whining thru the speakers when the stereo is on
