a gu at a local performance shop said that a blockguard will help strengthen my block from nos, i thought they only do good with turbos? can someone clear this up cause im gonna go either turbo or all motor w/ nos pretty soon...im planning on running a 75 to 100 shot on a stock gsr block if i go with that setup, is that to high?
and which is better a tial or delta wastegate and whats the difference? thanks

blockguards aren't good for anything.

A blockguard is to prevent your sleeves from caving or cracking, however usually with a 75 to 100 shot of nos on a stock block blows the ring lances on the pistons, not the block. If you are going turbo make sure to sleeve and block guard if you plan on running more than 12 psi.

It's an open ended debate that seems to be argued about only by people that have not used a block guard.

But if you use iron sleeves AND a block guard then you're bullet proof

You can run a 75 shot on a stock B18C as long as you tune it and keep up with the maintenance. You won't have a chance in hell of hooking up on a one stage 100 shot so there isn't much of a point to it.
