Default Which Wideband?? Plz Help

I am looking into buying a wideband pretty soon and was wondering which one everyone recommends? I have broken it down to either the PLX DM6 OR the Innovate LC-1 Kit. What I am wondering is, which would be the best buy? Im not really going to mess with my tune any after I get it tuned. I was told by a tuner that I really didnt need a wideband, but I wanted to get one for the extra insurance.

My setup
GSR Bottom end. Supertech 9:1 pistons LS eagle rods and LS crank. ARP Headstuds
Blox Intake manifold. PTE 1000cc injectors. AEM fuel rail.
Holset H1C turbo
LOVEFAB Ramhorn
Tial 40mm wastegate
TiAL 50mm Blow off valve
I am still stuck between 93 and E85.
Also I am tuning with Hondata S300

Get the PLX so it will read correctly with the s300. Still can't get my lc-1 to read or rectify for datalogging.

Defiantly smart to get a wide band! Mine has saved me a few times. I haven't used a Plc but my lm-1 kills 02 sensors, before anyone says anything I have talked to Innovate with no help; I jumped through all their hopes. Other things always come up but would personally be willing to try any other brand my self. From what I have read over the years lc-1s can kill sensors too. Over the last 3 years I have replaced at least 5 times I have honestly lost count.

You can use what you want but we find these very good and they work perfect with any chipped Honda ECU

Uncle Dave how long have you been using the AFX? and if you had any experience how would you compare it and the PLX DM6?

Weird...this is all I use on the cars we get to setup here.

My personal preference for a personal vehicle would be 1st and MTX-L from Innovate, and 2nd the PLX DM6...

For a more stationary or fixed Dyno wideband...that recommendation would be different.

Chris why do you like those two? They both use the same Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor. Lately Ive been hearing bad things about the LSU42.

Do you need to cut the 136&138 resistors in the ECU for the LC-1 to read right? i have s300 and lc-1 but not hooked up yet...

I have had the AFX in my roadcar for over 2 years with no problems and is currently hooked to my neptune and the readings are 100% the same as our Autronic AFR unit hooked up to our dyno.Xenocron is best to talk to about any others as we only use Motec/Autronic/NGK AFX and no other AFR meters.

The Bosch LSU 4.2 sensor is an OEM Sensor spec'd by Bosch and the EPA to last 100k miles on production vehicles. Why are people having issues...

Improper installation
Abuse (too close to hit turbos)
Abuse (constantly in and out of exhaust)
Abuse (leaded fuels)

Many others...

On the dyno I get about 20-30 tunes out of one LSU 4.2 sensor...that's like a use cost of $2 per car.

I run an Innovate in my own race car, 100% full time closed loop feedback...still on the first sensor

I have always had great experience with any I have installed personally...I know they have had their issues, but they have always taken care of me and my customers.

The beauty with the LC1 is that you can program how ever you like. I use factory settings though

0 volts = 7.39 AFRs
5 volts = 22.35 AFRs

The biggest problem is ground offsets. Ground and power the wideband from the same as the ECU and it should be very close.

I have had great success with innovate widebands serial logging works fantastic. Recently tried an AEM and I found it to be much less consistent, just ordered a MTX-L to replace the AEM.

We use motec plm's on the dyno. It cant be beat. As far as an affordable meter I've had the best luck with the ngk afx, that's what I have in my street car

This(ground offsets)! I usually layout a new AWG14 ground wire directly from the engine harness' ground mounted at the thermostat cover up to one of the ECU casing cover's small bolt, tie them all together with the WB's ground wire.

Ever since I started making my own custom harness, I now have that extra ground wire built-in with the new harness. see yellow markers. I install a ring terminal at the end and bolt it down at one of the screws of the ECU cover.

I've had great success with all the LC-1's I got from Chris over the years. I've yet to see one failed sensor among my few clients.

My personal in-car LM-1 unit though had the first failure way back 2010. I said screw that sensor and so I kept it in there(curious on how long it lasts) lasting for 1 year and 10 months to be exact, daily driven, switching from CROME/Neptune/eCtune while i used my car as a test bed for all the stock ECU's(also from Xenocron) I chipped.

I recently bought from Xenocron the PLX DM-6 AFR combo to give it a try for the first time. I like the rugged looks of the controller considering the all year long hot weather in my area. My old PLX-M300 casing melted and started to deform but still useable till to date.

I always thought the ecu case was a "dirty" (noisy) ground used for shielding?

I never realized the casing had any ground that connected to the ECU board itself? Im going to have to check that out now...

And even if a stock ECU does have this, keep in mind that if you use any other type of ECU (standalone, etc) it may not
