Has to do with tires getting grip & then sliping, then gripping, etc. Wheels are not really a factor. Movement (suspension, engine mounts, axles) is the problem.
Good shocks? Broken engine mounts? ES engine mounts work great for this problem. I would try them first since they are the cheapest. There are also lower arm braces that you could get which brace for fore/aft movement. I have no info on those. You might want to try the drag racing forum.
added in edit: not to say you are not welcome here. just saying they might have more info on the lower arm braces there.

Have you ever tried motor mount inserts, they help alot with wheel hop. Strut mount bushings are also supposed to help.

I have insane wheel hop on my na gsr.. I changed to urethane engine mounts and it help alot.. doesn't feel like the engine is tearing out on every shift now. I still have bad wheel hop though. Will traction bars fix this? I was looking into a set of the jim fab bars.. I just want to know the best way to fix it.. Will lowering the car with stiffer springs help?
