Why limp mode??!
hey guys i have a d16y8 converted to obd-I with a virgin p28 ecu... i just boosted the car a few days ago and the only problem i have is almost every time i hit peak boost(9 psi) the car goes into limp mode(or closed loop) and runs like ****... i am using a map sensor for the d16y8... i dont know if that makes a difference but i heard that they read up to 11 psi so mine should be good... would it help at all if i switched to a map sensor from my old d16z6? also any other ideas? right now im just running off "the hack" with rc 370cc injectors... any help is greatly appreciated

first of all.. people are going to tell you to get off the hack. there are many free ways to get a tune. uberdata, crome, turboedit. hit up pgmfi.org for more info.
but as far as your concern, i guess i would try switching out map sensors to se if that helps anything.
good luck to you!

i know im trying to find someone to trade me a chipped p28 for my virgin p28... my buddy has everything needed to tune with crome so im going that route

i hate when people say free when speaking about uberdata/crome...
the programs are free, yes... but the hardware to tune it is not...
keep in mind a WBo2 costs ~$300, laptop (varies), datalogging ~$30...
and if you want to get it tuned, you'll have to fork over $150-200... so no... there are no free ways to tune.

i can always steal a a/f gauge and then put a hose clamp on the fuel return line and tighten it up... thats free and i can tune my car that way... haha lol- no
