MY car has been down for a month. IT should be up and running with the CRV motor by next week. And boost will come a little more then a month later =P No point to put on the turbo when I have emissions in May. So I'll wait till I pass emissions to put on the turbo.

I have not really driven mine since august. Maybe 200 miles.

Just got it working again tonight with my new fuel system.. hondata..

sgT's ITR map makes it ping under full throttle though Tuning necessary.

Mine's down coz I crashed it 2 nights ago Lucky though, I still have my spare car to drive around while I wait more than a month for repairs. After the bodywork is repaired at Honda, then it will be towed to a friend's garage for the B16A2 swap + modifications to existing turbo kit to make it work with the new engine. That'll probably drag on another 2 weeks. Maybe in 2 months, i'll get to drive it again Such a long time, makes me wanna cry! hehe

Hmmm....how should I start? Well...I sent out a spare GSR block I bought to be sleeved BRE like maybe 2yrs ago. Thought it as gonna be finished and sent to me like Nov. 1999....so when I blew my clutch in Dec. 1999, I said alright lemme just tow this ***** home and wait til the block arrives and swap the blocks and do a clutch install @ the same time. Well, the shop has problems and the owners split and the owner I was dealing with relocated his shop to Alabama. After he finally gets associated with his new shop like Mar. 2000, I also get him to do my head and send it to him as well. Junk wasn't finished til like July-Aug. but never sent out....I'm like WTF?!?! So I said I'll just pick it up my self and drive 8hrs down there and 8hrs back. Get home and I don't install it right away....then a month later I start putting part back on and get to putting the alternator on. After trying to bolt the alternator bracket on I over-torque 1 bolt! Now I'm screwed...I try to drill and tap it out and end up breaking the tap inside the bolt....then I just keep drilling till it looks like a huge cavity! After awhile I give up and said "FUQ IT!", then after calling around and not finding a machine shop to fix it I don't do anything until like 2months ago. I take it to a shop in Daytona and have them fix it and put all of the rest of the stuff back on....before I go down to pick up the motor I ask them to check and make sure I got the right parts. So they unbolt the oilpan and find a pile of metal shavings and break one of the bearing by just turning it by hand. Ok....so we decide to have it reassembled. During the break-down...what do they find? One of the dowls BRE used to pin the block was coming away from the cylinders. It couldn't be fixed, so I had to get it resleeved again with GE sleeves. As of now the block is back from GE is my shop is looking for a place to bore and hone the block for my 81.5mm pistons. Motor was gone for over a year....and car has been out and on jackstands for a year and 3 months. So the moral of this story is....don't go through a shop that's on the other side of the US directly and check your stuff once it gets back.

P.S. Don't trust a dude named Jeff Bogart and don't shop @ Bogart Racing in Alabama!

My car has been down since June, roughly 9 months. The motor in it was already sickly, so I drove it safely and gently while my spare motor was being built up. Timing belt let go due to CRAP *** STR CAM GEARS CHEWING AT THE BELT Been down ever since. Luckily, a year ago on a spur of the moment, I decided to purchase a 90 CRX HF in white with 150k miles on it, just because it was super clean. I never expected it to be my daily driver for so long - odometer now reads 173k on a stock HF (read: 19.5@65 1/4mile slow) motor that's never been opened It's getting tired though, idles sorta rough. The problem currently is not money, but time. I have 3 cars to finish before I can really work on mine. That sucks.

Mine's been down since the beginning of February. How do you guys stand it for so long?? I haven't been out a car as long as most of you, and I'm killing myself.

I also don't have another car, so I'm buming rides and riding my Schwinn around.

My poor Sol got her face smashed in September. Got that fixed but now the motor is getting rebuilt to handle N2O/turbo setup. I think I'll have the motor up and running by next weekend!!!!! Can't wait!!

LOL I bet that Schwinn your riding around on is faster than the 79 Ford pickup I'm driving while I build my car. This truck is so slow a 16 second car would probably scare the crap out of me!!!

mine hasn't been down and wont ever be down. I'm going to be doing a built and boosted b20/vtec swap soon and putting the entire stock b16a2 engine in storage should I get boost happy and blow it. Full engine sway can be done in a day, so no biggie.

That is a good plan.....but for real....

How do you guys put up without having your car FOR A YEAR!!??? My car was down 2-3 weeks while I swapped engines, and that seemed like a lifetime.
