Default White Smoke from breather?

OK i read the topic earlier about the white smoke and mine was kinda different....

this problem is on a d16z6 turbo

I have smoke coming from my breather cap

here is the story

my car started to get hot on the highway when we were going to HIN so we stopped on the side turned on the heater then went the rest of the way there........now when HIN was over on the way back i was pushing it and my car all of a sudden dies.... and it won't start back up so i pull over and i notice temp gauge is high....so we let it cool for a bit turn on heater and everything then when i get back home i notice there is oil from the intake manifold all the way back to the firewall.
and i can't find out where it came from valve cover gasket is fine i don't think it's the head gasket cause it's all above the intake manifold..... and now when i start the car white smoke comes out of the breather so and help is appreciated....

thanks

well from what i understand, when oil comes out like that, there goes your rings. If you have to replace that, save the money, and build your motor. I take it you have the filter on your valve cover, look at it, if oil is coming out of it and its hitting the fire wall, don't drive your car and get it worked on.

After Acura adjusted the valve clearances on my B18B, some oil now "seeps" out from the valve cover gasket. You may want to check this.

Have you removed the valve cover gasket before?

Did you say you have a breather filter on your valve cover?

unfortunately that's what it sounds like to me, I know, I had a scare with light oil on my filter but it didn't turn out to be the rings, just alittle blow back. Good luck on the build or swap.

yesm... sounds like you fried yourself some rings...

happened to me, it stinks, i know.
to repeat everyone else, just run a compression test to be sure...

and if they're fried, it might be a good sign to just swap the booger out, unless money's a huge problem, then you can just buy a new set- just be sure there was no damage to the cylinder walls.

I had the same problem, but I did more than fry my rings, I cracked a couple of pistons. Oh well, it has been a little over a week my car has been in the shop getting je 9:1 pistons, .20 over, eagle rods, port and polished head, polished crank, 3 angle valve job. It sucks and is alot of money but man I will be alot faster when I can turn up the boost...

ok i just drove the car around and it happened again but one of the plug wires came out and there is oil all over again and there is oil in the spark plug holes of #1 and #4

but 2 and 3 are fine

i didn't do the compression test because the wouldn't let me rent it and i didn't wanna buy it for 40

i rather spend the money on internals

I had mine done for free!! ANd when you buy pistons go with the JE or Endyn rollerwaves with eagle rods. Save your money on the crower rods and get a better piston than arias.
