Where to tap downpipe for o2?
Should I go right after the turbo, or will that be too hot for the sensor?
P.S. I'm going to get my downpipe made as soon as I can, today!

wow, that's pretty far down...the only thing I could find in a search was someone saying they went 6" from the turbine outlet...hrm...

I think that was my post. Mine is 3", not 6" from the turbine. BUT my sensor is not heated. If you have a heated sensor, 4 wire, it should be further away, close to the cat.

Put it close to the turbo, heated or not.
The only reason the stock o2 sensor is by the cat is because its right after the 2-1 merge.
That way its allowed to read all 4 cylinders and not just 1 or 2.

Steve, does this rule apply for a wideband o2 also?

off topic:
I've always wondered how tailpipe wideband O2 sensors can be accurate on cars with catalysts still installed.
