Where is Map sensor on my B16a?
wondering where the Map sensor is on my B16? it's not on the throttle body, like other B series, the only thing on the throttle body is TPS. I noticed a plug on top of the intake manifold and one in the underside of the back of the manifold. is it either of these two?
thanks
thanks
It's mounted on the firewall. There's a vacuum line running from the throttlebody to the MAP sensor on 4g Civics/2g CRXs, same with first-gen B16As. Only the later-model engines had throttlebody-mounted MAP sensors.
You sure? Here it is on a ZC engine diagram:

It's labelled in this picture.
It's in the top right in this picture.

The one in green is the OBD0 MAP sensor, the one in yellow is the OBD1 MAP sensor.
Is yours there? post a pic

here some pics of mine, I want to bypass this MAP on the firewall. How should I do it? I have a throttle body with the MAP sensor on it and the missing Link to go with it. Can I use this and just plug it in? the plug fits perfectly. what would I do with the left over vacumm lines? i quess find a vacumm source and hook them up ?
The one solenoid on the firewall has a vacuum line running to the intake manifold, run that line to a nipple on the manifold after you switch throttlebodies. I believe it's the one in your picture with the check valve in the middle of the line. I'm not sure what the hell that white plastic thing is, I've never seen that before, so feel free to disconnect it and remove it
You actually don't even need to connect the solenoid vacuum line to the manifold, it won't throw a code - but it won't allow your fuel tank to vent, either.
And yes, just unplug the old MAP sensor and plug the connector into the new MAP sensor. Voila, it should work fine! The sensors themselves are slightly different but not enough to cause problems AFAIK.

just found out my throttle body does not fit. Seems that there is more than one size throttle body for b16s. I am just gonna use a Type B blox and bybass the MAP on the firewall and leave all that crap the way it is. that **** kinda scares me frankly. I have never seen that on other CRX's. Only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with it being an HF model. They were designed to get High gas milage. I know I used to have and Optimal Shift Point indicator before swapping the engine. May have something to do with that.
I really appreciate your help
