Re: Where does the FMU go?? (97turboteg)
it basically goes anywhere you can fit it, but the plumbing goes as follows. the top port goes to manifold vacuum, the 2 bottom ports go inline with your return after your stock fuel pressure reg. if i remember, from the reg to the outter fitting then out of the middle fitting to the return hard line.

Re: Where does the FMU go?? (tallyturbo)
yes sir.
to the original poster....guy, an FMU is old out dated technology. no body uses them in here, and if they are, they arnt making any power and their set up is prolly running very poorly. we dont use FMUs because we use some sort of ECU programming, whether it be a free version (uberdata, crome etc etc or a stand alone like Hondata, AEM etc etc)
hope that helps.

read up on all the types of engine management here, especially on the fmu, then decide if you still want to go with it.
if you do decide on it, here is a diagram from one of my threads:
this thread also has some good info:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1528139
hope these help.
p.s. from personal experience, i can tell you that an fmu probably wont do you any good.

Re: Where does the FMU go?? (LSTEG96)
hahahahahahhaahahahahahaha
all you guys that are bagging on the FMU are missing out on the great motors that has made great power with it. i had a friend that has a ls/vtec pushing 356/252 and thats with stock everything from valvecover to oil pan and he ran mid 11s also with a 2000 civic si coup. then a h22 guy that had it and pushed 400 hp.
and just to throw it in. this guy that posted this thread has been getting bagged on every time he puts a thread up. im just starting to feel bad for this guy now.

Re: Where does the FMU go??
Not trying to hijack the thread but quick question. If I run about 7psi will I be safe useing the FMU? I have the Greddy emanage but dont have the money to get it tuned yet. Shuld I just wait to drive it untill I come up with the money to get it tuned? Will I expletive up the internals?
By the was the setup is an H23, darton sleeves, all forged bottom end 9:1 comp,1mm over sized valves, walbro 255, rc550cc injectors, aem fuel pressure regulator and rail. Turbonetics T3/4 turbo.
Any suggestions?

Re: Where does the FMU go?? (durand202)
No, if your running 550cc injectors you will need to tune them, the biggest injectors you can run w/o running is 310cc. That's why the greddy turbo kit includes it w/ their half *** engine management unit. Don't run the fmu.
With your set-up, why not invest in a better tunning system like chrome // uber if budget's a concern?

please don't
get your **** tuned! it's not costly and will net you much much more power and reliability. You already have spend a bunch on money on parts, why risk them all so you can make much less power?

Re: Where does the FMU go?? (Sketch_hs)
Thanks for the replys guys. I'm not going to run the car befor it gets tuned. Budget is a problem and also I dont know of any tuners in my area that tune Hondata or Uber. I'm trying to hopefully save enough money to get the AEM EMS and get it tuned.

I had the same problem when I went FMU, there was nobody near who could tune Hondata. It worked great for me other than your running a ton of timing. Fuel was never a problem up to 11 psi. I was on the stock motor though, not a huge loss if it were to go. I would not have done it on a built motor though.
Ran 11.8's on a stock B16
