Hmm.. does it still sound stock? Maybe your tachometer is wrong.

I'm thinking 250rpm would feel very rough.

When I did a motor swap, I idled at 250 until I adjusted the idle control screw. It also idled really really smooth. Sometimes I would think the car was off since it was so quite and cranked it to here grinding from my starter. I kinda liked it at 250, but I kept thinking it might die out at a stop light after hard driving so I raised it anyway.

after i got it tuned on the dyno, i took it out and it would die like crazy at every stop...i was driving at WOT too, and the engine shut off (thats not good). but im driving pretty crazy now and it doesnt die at all. is a low rpm idle bad for the engine?

My idle is right at 1000rpms right now. I'm running a Speedpro B2B w/ 550cc's and no IAC valve. Going to work on getting it a tad lower if i can.

How are you guys reading 250rpm on the stock tach? The first line is 500rpm

nah, mine has a "0" then a space, then a hash, then some more hashes, then a "1" denoting 1000rpm, and the spaces in between are that between the other marks along the tach...

ah! what i said meant nothing.....its just at 250
