Where to CEL tester?

Passenger side floorboard behind the carpet. Should be two connectors. Stick a wire or paperclip in the two holes of the small one to "jump" the wire. Then turn the key to "on". CEL light will flash the number of the code. Long flashes are the tens digit, short flashes are the ones.

a little vague, so for more specificity, look for a fat green rubber thing with a blue connector inside of it. Very easy to spot----the green sticks out.

If you have the money and a laptop or palm, you can try something like this. http://www.obd2.com/index_home.html . I used to have one before my Hondata and it tells you all error codes and all avaialble sensor readings. Simply plug the connector to the obd2 port under the dash on the driver side. However, it's only for obd2 vehicles.
