when to upgrade ignition?

when to upgrade ignition?

I have 98 gsr turbo with magnacore wires and denso irridium plugs. How much power can I run before upgrading ignition to somthing like msd or one of the newer digital systems. local shop said

from what i read some place...you can go to 4XXhp....someone should know exactly though

Don't know if this helps, but I had a dohc ZC in a 91 hatch awhile back. Internals were stock, with a couple of bolt ons, and an 80 shot NOS. I put an MSD 6al with external coil just for ***** and giggles and to be honest with you, at around 5-7500rpm, it felt alot smoother and pulled a little better to redline. Maybe I'm crazy, good luck.
