....the d16y8 has a better head design, and that is about it for the differences. Something about the quench area being better and better ports.

D16Y8 has a 9.6 to 1 CR.

D16Z6 has a 9.2 to 1 CR.

How much did your turbo setup cost you including all the labor?

using different gaskets, between a Z6 and Y8 changes the compression about +/- .2

the Z6 gasket is the thicker one.

Well I do some wrenching myself but when it comes to a project as big and complicated as a turbo I would rather not attempt it with a friggin helms manual and a prayer. I would really like to know if there is anyone in Houston that could help me tune it. I figure the turbo kits they have now are bretty much a bolt oon affair but when it comes to tuning it I have no idea. Can anyone tell me what is involved? And how much it would cost? I am thinking about the DRAG gen 3 kit.

It's really not that bad installing the kit yourself...Just take your time and make lots of posts here, you will learn so much about your car.
