Default What would make the most TQ?

Turbo charged (no variable valve, nothing real special.) (Give the V engines most common angle)
9.0:1 compression
20psi

R/S 1.75:1

HeadGasket and all the other items are similar.

4.0 I4, 4.0 I5, 4.0 I6, 4.0 V8, 4.0 V10, and 4.0 V12

I dont understand but I'm told that one engine would make the most TQ.

Assuming the same psi, turbo, and revlimit they should all make the same torque.

Not sure if the max tq would be that same but where the max tq is at in the rpm band would be different..

Are you sure about that? He listed them as all being the same displacement, 4.0 liter.

Im very sure about that.. Put a 4.0L inline 6 up against a 4.0 v6 and see which one will have the low end tq..

There are probably other variables between the engines. I always thought (not 100% sure though) that inline engines are more efficient, which is why Chevy is starting to replace their V6's with inline 5's now.

I didnt know about the inline 5's or anything like that, Sounds kinda neat..

no.

This question is so infinitely variable that you CANNOT answer it. How are you adjusting the size of the motors, are you decreasing bore, or decreasing stroke? If you decrease stroke, you are effecting when and where the motor makes torque and how high it has to rev. If you decrease the bore size the motor will like more timing, but you will also be shrouding the valves more so that the head does not flow as much air into and out of the cylinder, changing the powerband. Unless you put TINY ports on the V12 motor, chances are it is going to have an overal level of flow through the cylinder head far greater than the inline 4 would, also drastically changing the powerband. There is no way to answer this question with the very limited amount of variables you gave us.

I'll throw some bait out there, since this sounds like you're trying to end an argument.

The V12 will probably have the shortest stroke, I4 will probably have the greatest stroke. A 4 litre inline 4 is pretty damn big. I would say, as accurately as possible, that the inline 4 would make the most torque.

It's not that, I just don't understand it enough to keep going. Thats why I made this thread so I can get some facts.
