What turbo for my setup?
Ok, i finally have some money to start buying my parts for custom turbo kit. I am pretty sure i am going to go with the t3/t4. It is my daily driver but i love to go to the track. Here is my setup. I in addition to it i will be getting 440cc injectors and stage 3 axles. I plan to run about 12lbs on the street and 14-15lbs at the track. Oh, my setup...
95 Honda Civic Si, B18C engine, Crower Rods, JE 9.0:1 pistons overbored .02, Race engineering Block guard, ARP head studs, ferrea valves w/ 5 angle valve job oversized .5mm, type r intake cam, titanium retainers,New valve springs, polished & knife edged crank, quaife LSD, Skunk2 intake manifold, AEM fuel rail w/ gauge,Walboro 255 Fuel Pump, AEM FPR, stage 4 clutchmaster, fully balanced and blueprinted, 2.5 Testpipe, thermal 3", Suspension Techniques Urethane Motor mount Inserts, Drag Radials, V-AFC
What trim and A/R should i use?
Thanks.

Precision SC44.
supports 565HP.
.6AR compressor.
.63 AR turbine.
60 trim.
stage 3 turbine wheel.
Best turbo money can buy.
Heres a pic of my SC32....

i use t3/t4E. your set up and my old set up is same. i make 300whp at 10 psi and 370whp at 17psi.
Thanks

If your only looking for around 350HP, I would just go with a 50 trim, with the same AR's.
The 50 trim from precision is called a SC50
Should spool very quick with a B18C.

I would say go with the sc32 so you have some room to grow if you decide to sleeve the block down the road. it will still have very good spool up characteristics but supports 480hp. you will make good power on this turbo down in lower boost levels compared to sc44. thsi is what PT recommended for my last customer whit a type r that wanted 350hp. I can get you one for a great price. check your IM.

What is your trim and A/R? when was it completely spooled? did you get the turbo with the Drag kit or something?
Thanks

well the SC series turbo's ARE T3/TO4E derivitives. The precision turbo's have better spool up, and efficency compared to an equally sized standard T3/T4.
Precision uses Garret componets along with their own housings to make one of the best turbo's money can buy...

I just got off the phone with Turbonetics and i wondered what you guys thought. For my setup(ttt) he recommended the T3/T04E with the super 60 wheel, Stage 3 turbine, .48 A/r, .60 trim. The ball bearing option he said would be a good idea. Prices are 877.00 polished and 1427.00 for BB option Polished. Good idea or not?
Thanks

yea the price seemed really high to me. I also talked to the precision Guy. He recomended for me the SC50. It will support 425 hp. But he said i might have complications with the block. possible I would have to trim it or something. It sounds like a nice turbo but i don't want to have to modify to much. Plus I haven't heard of them until now. I need to do some more research on them i think before i buy.
It depends on what manifold you utilize.
A SC50 is just as big (maybe even smaller because of the 5bolt T3) as a Turbonetics T3/T04E. If the block needs to be shaved for the SC50, it will need to be shaved for the turbonetics.
Do some more research, but I bet you will not find a better setup for the money than one of precision's turbos.

I think I am going to go with the inline pro manifold and a precision turbo. Should i get the SC32, SC44 or the SC50. I will be driving on the street mostly with trips to the track to beat my friends
Thanks everyone for your help!

I wouldnt really recomend the SC32. Not that its a bad turbo, but its also not the best turbo for your set up. You have 3 options for the compressor SC44(.60 trim), SC34(.57 trim), and a SC50(.50 trim). If you look at the compresor maps of those trims the SC32 flows the least and has a strange compressor map.
But I think by the way you are talking on your set up and driving style, I would say the SC50 with a .63 A/R.
