well i know i dont have over 251 hp but i still cant get any traction what so ever. i know its mostly cause im rollin on 18s" with 35 series but still.. what do u guys like.. hows the tread wear..

I gave 555R's a try up front a months ago and the tread lasted 1.5 months until they were practically bald. which sucked.

I raised the car a bit and that threw my alignment off a tad so that was partly cause.

They grip cold (well, SoCal cold, which isn't very cold at all. eheh) and grip even better after you light em up.

well i only have 15's, but i use nitto 450's 205 50 15 and they work fine. I know alot of people say they don't like them, but i've had them since summer and still have plenty of tread left. They are great in the rain also, good traction.

That's casue your Nitto 450s are kinda new. I felt the same way when I got mine. Now I accidently break traction at stop lights with normal acceleration. Must be the new clutch.

My favorite so far have been my Bridgestones, I had the Potenza RE950's, put 50k miles on them before a flat tore a tire.

Now running on Toyo Proxies FZ4's. I like them, feel really close to what I had in the Bridgestones, but I paid mega less thanks to a hookup. I still like the Bridgestones better.

I've had dunlop sp5000s for almost 20,000 now and they still have tons of tread left. An amazing all season tire, good dry traction (not like summer tires of course), but amazing wet, snow and ice traction as well. When these finally go bad, there what I'm replacing them with. GREAT!

heres a rundown on tires from my experience's with them on my car and friends cars. So far there are only 3 tires that I believe you can run on a 250hp honda and put down all 250 horses. these are the 3.

1)BFG g-force TA drag radial 225/50/15 or 205/50/15- 110 each.
-hands down best traction for a street tire.
-last 4k-5k miles. make sure u heat cycle them before drag racing for proper wear.
-be careful driving on them in bad weather, but very driveable.
-seen 1.9's cut on these, 2.0's easy.
-these tires could be summed up as a track tire that can be driven on the street.

2) FALKEN AZENIS 205/50/15- 70$ each. or 215/45/16 and 205/55/16- 90 each.
-great all around tire for drag or auto-X.
-lasts between 10-20k miles.
-good in rain.
-seen plenty of 2.0's on these, 2.1 avg..
-can be summed up as a great tire that performs well everywhere at a great price.

3)Nitto 555R 205/45/15- 75$ each. or 205/45/16- 100 each. or 245/50/16(baller tire-25.5" diamater)- 140 each.
-for the 15" rim the side wall is too low profile(45) making the tire diamater 22". over 225 hp u will spin the hell out of these tires, u are better off with the larger 23" 205/50 azenis.
-last around 10k miles depending on type of driver.
-reasonable in rain. just dont go and try to be japanese rain racer.
-only drag radial for a 16" rim
-2.0-2.1 60's.
-can be summed up as a street tire that works great at the track.

i sold my old 17's so i could run a 15" rim and run a good tire so i could have traction. If u really want traction you may want to consider doing the same.

One tire Id like to try out is the Yokohoma A032R. they look nice and sticky but at 140$ id rather get the BFG's. Reading reviews on them they look like an expensive azenis.

For someone looking to get 30k out of a tire and still get reasonable traction with a high hp honda im going to recommend the potenza S03's. for me personally, theres not a 30k mile tire that will get traction the way I want it too. I guess you have to pay to play like the saying goes. the way i look at it, my RWD friends pay over 250$ a pop on tires, if i can spend an extra 100$ on just my front tires so that I can run with them I consider my money well spent. I guess tires can be expensive but I didnt spend thousands of dollars to make my car look pretty. I spent it to make it fast and we all know that if u dont have traction you cant go fast.

Yeah dont waste your time with the Kumho line-up, the Falken or Nitto 555r is probably your best bet for a good gripping street tire. I have the Kumho Escta 712 right now, and its nothing but wheel spin into 4th gear. The Falken on the other hand hook up, and are good for straight line and cornering, as well as decent wet weather characteristics. You can get them for around 60.00 a tire + shipping online, so if they wear out you wont be breaking the bank as with the Nitto's.

At the track, I use Mickey Thompson 24x15x8. They are a big slick, and hook up every time. They have been the only thing successful enough to contain the power that i make with my engines.

hahaha...j/k, but, i really like the yokohama parada spec 2, they have good tracton IMO, i took them to the track when i had the 75 shot on my car, and they hooked up pretty good, but for the street, you can beat them if you ask me, besides that, i had a set almosy a year, and i dogged the hell out of them.... burnouts, donuts, street races, autocrosses, the works, and i even put them abck on the car when i started dring it again. i have some of them on the 16's on my teg, had them about 6 months, and they still look brand new

i got some falken ziex 512s. its a good tire... way better than the stock michelins (POS). performance factor is there... but of course it isnt the best tire to race with. good for daily driving and occasional racing.

i had the 555R from nitto they where good untill they wore out witch didnt take long now i have the falken anzenzs and i think they hook alot better and they have alot more tread on them i am happey with them so far.

i am going up against AWD cars alot and they do there trick if that makes you think any different about them

2.0's w/ azeni's? damn, they perform just as well as the drag radials? I was going to buy a set of bfg's or 555's for next season but not if my azeni's are just as good. I can't launch worth **** with them, probably driver error (see sig)... What pressure are you guys using? I'll be pretty pissed if i spend a couple hundred for drag radials and they perform the same.

Kumho Ecsta Supra's as well here. Worked well for about a year of not much abuse, but I've heard they wear badly after that (I had bad camber and wore to the belts in the back). I just replaced them (and fixed the problem) with the 711's they are x rated so harder rubber. Don't burn mine too much because I don't drive that hard, I wouldn't recommend them for any street racing or strip use and definately not the way to go for Auto X, but they are good everyday tires.

dont forget Toyo T1-S these are VERY sticky and just as sticky in the rain. On some backroads I have tried to get my brakes to lock up, but they wouldnt. Oh and I dont have stock brakes either. I have a 88 CRX with Wilwood calipers and 11" rotors along with Porterfield R4-S pads. From what I have heard the Eagle F1's are almost as good but you will pay a pretty penny for them as well as the Toyo's.
