Default what hp will 550 support

just did some tunnign for a friewnd and i put some 550 in his civic/f20b and some huge *** turbo ....he had no bosst controller so it was boosting to 10psi .....

i got it runnign mint except for a hesitiation at 4500 to 5000 rpm ...but 10psi was to much for 11:1 comp....i had the 550 near 100%duty and it was still alittle lean ..but holy **** it was fast ..

any who what kinda power would 550 be good for
thanks

Assuming 95% duty, and 0.55 BSFC, they can support 362 horsepower.

10 PSI? If you have a high redline I suppose it is possible.

More likely was that you were actually running much richer than your wideband was telling you. Your BSFC can climb as high as 0.65 if you get down into the 11:1 AFR range.

uhh funny thing ..no wideband ...lol just ood ol plug checking ...the plus were still on the lean side after the last few runs ...and the f20 love 8500 rpm

side note *guy was in a hurry to get it base tuned and didnt want to go to a dyno ..

it ran safe but there was only a few 1-2 gear and one 2-3rd pull...1st and 2nd was noting but spinnign wheels ...very easy on the timming side of it no signs of detonation

it hit 10psi by 6000 or so and hit 8500 in a hurry

oh and the stock reg runs at 54psi

2.0 liters, 8500 RPM, 10 PSI. Yeah, mid 300's certainly possible with that combo.

You should try using a wideband, or at least an EGT. Reading the plugs is a good technique, but since cylinder pressures and temperatures skyrocket with forced induction, it will change the "read" of the plug significantly.

My engine dips down into the 11:1 AFR range at 8 PSI, but the plugs stay a nice tan color.

I made 362WHP and 282torque on 13 psi with the RC 550s
They are pretty much maxed out.

Keep in mind he (gt35R) is reving out to 9000 rpms.. thats the main reason they are maxed.

i maxed mine out at 355whp @ a static pressure of 43.

b18c1, 81.5mm with eydyn pistons/eagle rods
t3/t4oe 60 trim, stage 5 wheel. This was running 13-14psi. I just said screw it and went to 1000cc so i wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
