Hey everyone..
Well I managed to pick up this mint condition 3" Kakimoto racing exhaust pipe at the port here for a bargain, US$200 + a case of beer for the shop owner
I'm a little confused as to what model it is exactly, and whether its for an EK Civic or not. The bends and all seem to look the same as on my car right now, yet it has "DC2" written on the second pipe.. do Integra and Civic exhaust piping follow the same paths? I plan on using this with my upcoming B18C turbo, I hope its gonna be reasonably quiet (not like my straightpipe 2.5" HKS Hiper that i'm using now.. i get headaches from using that thing!) Do you people think this exhaust will be quiet enough for me, yet still be able to perform? thanks
btw.. kakimoto's website = http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp
couldn't find my model on their website either..
although I *think* its a Kakimoto-R..

Ooh, JASMA stamp
From what I understand, the 4dr DC2 piping should fit and EK 2/4dr, but it looks like you just got the rear muffler section, and midpipe thingy. When I got my first exhaust, it was off an LS Integra, and the piping was a bit long in the middle, and a bit short toward the rear. So, it was shortened in place, and extended over the LCA. In your case, it looks like you should be fine, since you're probably going to use some other front pipe to meet with your cat or downpipe, and that S section should be the same on Integras and Civics. As long as the muffler section clears your LCA, you're good to go.

It looks real nice, but I am not not sure if it will be as quiet as you like. Bolt it up and try it out!

I guess I need to ask you integra ppl who have open wastegate dumptubes, and similar-style exhausts.. anyone here move from the HKS Hiper/A'PEXi N1 style exhaust to something like my kakimoto?

well whatever happens, I will need to custom make the front part of the pipe regardless, since my turbo manifold, etc, will all be custom made. Plus I won't have a cat, it'll be replaced by a straight pipe. Is 3" all the way (from the turbo to the back of the car) too much for a high boostin' B18C?
3" downpipe MIGHT be too much... you may get some boost spike. But as for the rest of the exhaust it should be fine at 3". BTW, that kakimoto is all 3"???
looks like the pipe gets smaller at certain points, but if you do custom you wont even need most of that piping and you can fix it if it isnt all 3".

what if i leave the piping as it is now with the rear and mid-pipes (as you can see above), and have the front pipe as 2.5".. would that work out okay? i'm only gonna be pushing around 10-12psi to begin with because i've run out of money for pistons and rods, but will have a blockguard installed. I just don't want to be seeing limitations when I start boosting over 16psi.. better to be prepared now..

So what I have here is a kakimoto-R? I measured the internal diameter of the piping to about 2.8", while the outside diameter is 3"...
