What could it be?
ok, my ex girlfriend has a 99 mitsubishi eclipse gst and the other day im not quite sure what happened but she had to have it towed, it wouldnt shift into gears unless the car was off...and she said she would have to use 2 feet to get it to even do that, btw she has a ACT 2600. When we bought the car the guy told us the clutch had 25000 miles on it. And whenever i drove the car, the clutch still felt great, and grabbed great. And shes a good driver so i know she didnt burn it up. Her brother is going to buy the car off her, and wants me to put a clutch in it if thats what it needs. I havnt looked at it yet, but could it be the slave cylinder, or a bent shift linkage? Thats kinda what i was leaning towards because that clutch felt fine. The last time i drove it was about 2 months ago, and we broke up about 2 months ago. Maybe a lot can happen in that time, but like i said the clutch still felt fine. She did have some work done by a friend of the family that does transmission work, and he drove it and said her clutch was going, i dont see how he got that idea, i just think he thought that because it was a racing clutch. He said it wasnt even a racing clutch and i KNOW it is. well, what do you guys think it could be? DAMN DSM's. shoulda bought a honda haha
I would check and see if the slave or clutch master is leaking I had a talon and it was one thing after another and I ended up changing the slave and the master.
