Weather and A/F?
We tuned my car on point in like Feb, i took it to the dyno agian yesterday and lost like 30-40 whp? i was like WTF? , well i noticed my car got sooo rich it was off the screen was like high 9's. before it was like 12.0-12.5 in boost. the only thing i can think of is the change in temp and the weather changed my a/f, but it changed big time .i ma running hondatat . is the only way to get around ths is make a sring/summer map and fall/winter map?
this bugs me out , is there any other standalone that will see the change in like temp and adjust the fuel curves? i know its a lngshot , but i figured id check

See, this is what scares me. What if there is a large change in temp?
How do you deal with it yourself, Not the tuner (what if you dont have the time to go to a tuner).

Hopefully, I'll get a straight answer...

Ya that was weird. It was really rich. I new that the temp would affect it somewhat but not that much. You should just have a Summer/winter chips. Thats what I will be doing. Oh here are some pics I snapped yesterday.
Total Sleeper rolled up.
Put down like 500+whp
Ed and Jeff were there tuning ed, unfortunately Ed couldn't keep his IC piping together. He put out some sick *** numbers for a SOHC. Fully tuned he should be close to or over 250-300whp. Good work Ed
.
This is what Ed thinks about his IC piping.

Yeah, wheather has a lot to do with it. Basically the cooler air temps (denser air) are gonna make your car run leaner---since you tuned in Feb. the air was still cool. Typically if you tune in the summer time and forget about this in the winter time you might have some serious lean a/f numbers.

Is this possible to setup with hondata Dan, or is this another EMS feature you want to throw in our face?

this does suck , i cant afford to chane fuel manamgement now , but wanna eep it safe, i tihnk the best bet or us hondata guys is 2 burns , i hear i will prob have to make noather one for race fue too . ill be rolling with mad chips in my center console. hehehee
i knew it would make a dif too , but this was a huge diff.
Nate No clips of the ecut out off hahaha that thing was nasty

haha ya I got a good clip if you want me to post it. Its in .mov format though, I know how people hate quicktime. That thing was rediculously loud.

Hehe. Going to pickup my gb purchase of the Quicktime e-cutouts this wed. Hopefully I will have the 3" cutout in my car next weekend.
Oh Pete. Im not sure if Hondata offers closed loop w/b o2 feedback. Probably not...but who knows, im sure one of these smart hondata tuners could figure it out. Then again it isnt just a simple on/off parameter. It is pretty involved even with the ems http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/...a0186

Basically for tuning you switch over to open loop so during the tune session the o2 sensor doesnt give feeback and the ecu try to make its own corrections. I think for the most part when tuning hondata tuners will keep it in open loop so that the narrowband stock o2 doesnt give any feedback at all. This way the ecu will read the same readong directly from the map---this explains why your real rich. For tuning in the sumertime, you might be able to just get away with boosting fuel pressure in the winter to supply the needed fuel when the mixture leans out cause of denser air.
Where is the stock ait sensor located? If it is in the manifold you may have gotten heat soaked on the dyno and that caused you to have to add alot of fuel to compensate. I'm not sure if it would help but I know that by relocating my ait sesor to before the throttle body it made a difference in the readings that I see, maybe this could help your temp sensor read closer to the actual temp and in turn provide you with more accurate fuel trims. There is probably a timing trim as well based on ait, with the relocation you may see timing go up in the same cells. Just a thought.
deff something to think about , thanks Adam .
I dont tihnk it was heat soaked , i only did a few runs , and it was that a/f right off the bat ? i dunno

you drove the car there though right? i think you would see a significant change in the reaction time of the sensor if relocated. if you watch the temp how long after you start a run does it take to come down?
