Default weak link for the h22a1?

i thought the rods were, but ive been hearing its the pistons? which will go first?
i was thinking about new rods and stock pistons w/good rings, but if stock pistons are weaker then the stock rods whats the point? i dont have the money to resleeve right now.

my goal is 350+ whp, i was thinking at least 12+ psi, and running a zdyne secu, if it ever gets fininshed.

stock internals will be able to handle that w/o a problem with good tuning.

stock h22a internals are NOT good for 12+psi...
the weak link is the piston.

Exactly what DLB1994 said. A person I know trashed his ringlands at 9psi.

wow, inline pro must really know what they are doing. They are about 2 hours away from where I live and a couple of their dudes rolled up here one night to our local street racing scene. One was in a beautiful 4 Door GSR, w/ molded kit, wing, cf hood, rh c2 3pcs, and 10psi of boost. The other dude had like a 97 stock *** looking civic coupe with a gsr motor, headgasket, valvesprings and retainers and custom kit. He claimed to be running 20-25psi on stock internals with race gas. I didnt believe him until he raced this WS6 w/ LS6 motor. He was all over the road, the ws6 pulled him 4 cars out of the hole and he continued to reel him in and beat him by about the same length....i believed that he was running that much boost, but on a stock motor ? come on.....

Anyways, ringlands are weak, i broke mine on 6psi JRSC !!!!!

why can't you run forged pistons without resleeving? Do you mean re-honing?
-matt
h22 sleeves have a coating that does not match up well with aluminum pistons, when rubbing together they create alot of heat, causing the sleeves to melt....

there really isn't any way to cheap out...do it right the first time or don't bother doing it at all
