Default Wastegate spring Tiring

its been about 1.5 years now and weve been boosting 25 psi then we had more tune done on it and dropped it to 20 psi about 6 months ago. Now we cant even get the boost over 18 psi TOPS and its a 1 bar spring with en elec boost controller turned all the way up in every form and fashion. can the spring get tired and not hold boost as well after this long. the absolute peak we can get it is 18.00 psi on a GOOD day. it normall boost up to 17 easy.

The spring isn't real likely to fatigue I wouldn't think.

You could pull the wastegate apart and check the diaphragm for wear, I do hear of them going out.

Also, the first thing I'd do is get an intake leak tester and make sure there are no boost leaks. What you describe could be due to a boost leak.

i have the boost controller wide open though, wouldnt it compensate even a little if there was a boost leak. i can guess we can check for that tomorrow.

Do you have a flex pipe in your exhaust system? If so, check to see if it has collapsed in.

Please tell me you are making more power than in your sig with the above stated boost levels. Check for gasket/exhaust leaks. Do you run leaded gas on it at all? Leaded gas eats wastegate diaphrams.

with 20 psi surely a boost leak would just give way and pop the clamps, everything is t bolt clamped silicone couplers. This is NOT my car, im still building my engine, the sig numbers are my b16a before the rings went to **** hehe...this is my good friends car and it made 384 hp on 16psi of boost today on 110octane. There is no gasket leaks or exhaust leaks all the exhaust is good not crushed. And come to think about it, he pretty much uses race gas 110-116 all the time, hes got barrels of that **** and just uses that mainly cause its not his daily driver. hes only been running that for about 6 months strait now though. could it eat it that fast? i know for sure the 116 is leaded, the 110 i believe is too, i think the only one that isnt is the 100 octane.
