Wastegate position doesn't really matter as long as it gets adequate flow. You want to route your dumptube so that it moves waste gases away from the intake side of the turbo, usually down toward the oil pan or down and out toward the fender.

you could always have the dumptube hook up to your exhaust system somewhere.....i have seen people hook it right up to their DP and i have seen people run the dumptube like 5' then to their exhaust.....

i just had mine run down under the oil pan and go back like 2'..just running alongside the exhaust....

Boy, I'd rather run no dumptube over running that thing. Nothing like melting your main rad hose, overheating, and ruining the engine.

Many tuners report double-digit gains in HP from venting the dump tube below & past the oil pan. Otherwise you get 'dead' air (no oxygen to burn in it) filling the engine bay, which is sucked into the turbo. It can then screw with your AFR's in addition to HP numbers.

In short, 2 smallish welds and a j-bend to vent it behind the oil pan will be one of the best investments you can make, even with a budget setup.
