Default Wastegate Actuator...

I'm running the GReddy bolt-on kit for D16Z6 powerplant, originally maxing at 10psi...

One day I was driving along and all of a sudden, no boost. I popped the hood to find that the arm extending out of the wastegate actuator had come unattatched from the internal wastegate (explaining why I had lost boost). We rigged the arm back up to the wastegate temporarily, to find that I could once again achieve boost--but only 4psi (max 5psi in cold weather). Maybe I only can acheive 4-5psi with my "rig" because the wategate is still not opening all the way? Incidently, I ordered a new actuator from "PRacing.com". I'm wondering, though, will purchasing this new actuator resolve the issue? Will the actuator assembly include everything I need to re-mount, and re-connect the new arm to the wastegate?

Comments welcome, thks in advance for insight.

Has anyone here ever had an actuator "break off" from the wastegate before?

I can get some...but the arm didn't actually "break off" per say-more or less, the piece at the end of the arm that attaches it to the arm coming out of the wastegate (that rotates in a semi-circular motion) broke off, causing the actuator arm to disconnect from it.

When the motor is below the PSI the wastegate is set to, the flapper inside is supposed to be sealing that WG hole. If it is rigged and not flush up against the turbine housing, it will usually build boost very slowly (gas bypassing the wheel). Not boosting to the specified setting is usually a problem with the WG actuator.

If that is the case, sell it on ebay as a '5psi early model 300zx WG', since some people only want to go with 4-5psi.

You mean sell just the actuator, or the entire internal wastegate?
