dont know about the cornering but. this is how i found out. my boy wanted to hear my vtec this being the first time i gun it since i put the head back on. so i did and nothing happened. so i punched the gas 15 20 times after that and still no vtec. just sounds like a mean dx.then i go oto my other boys house to show him and 1st gear didnt come on 2nd came in but wasnt as loud as it should be. it was very faint.
3rd it came in then back out of vtec. then i did it again to see whats up it didnt hit at all

also, pulling the vtec solenoid off isnt that hard. couple of hours at best. if its not the oil then id check the wiring and the sensor, solenoid, etc.

what motor do you have? sounds like the screen on the solenoid could be clogged.

i'd pull the solenoid off and check it. do you have a multimeter? id check the sensor to make sure its not bad and possibly the wiring harness for the solenoid

the screen is inside the solenoid itself, it can be cleaned.

Check your oil, I had the same problem when I had cracked rings in my si if your oil level gets low enough it will engage and disengage frequently. If that doesnt work take the seleniod off and clean the screen.

well check the filter on the vtec solinoid it could be plugged, and also the temp sender that gos to the ecu might be bad cus the water temp needs to be at 160 i think inorder for it to engauge, but just give these simple things a look befor you rip in to her.
