Vortech Fuel Pressure Optimizer, is it a good idea?
need opinions on the vortech Fuel Pressure Optimizer, is it worth the investment? are they safe? i cant tell but i almost looks like how the b&m fpr installs, keeping the stock oriface.

i have b&M for 4+years now, works like new
i think mine was like 50 buck but you'll need to tap your line for the fuel pressure reading somewhere(i use a banjo bolt and a liquid filled guage)

where did you get you banjo bolt? will it work with an autometer mechanical gauge?

I'm way biased, but check out the Synchronic unit. You can change out the bypass size to compensate for different flow fuel pumps and if you go turbo later, you can even use it for low boost, or just as a 1:1 with uberdata, EMS, whatever.

i forgot to mention i have a vortech s/c kit with the 255lph walbro pump, 310cc rc injectors and the vortech 6:1 fmu <---------------temporary till i get my chrome set up tuned,
will the b&m fpr work with my setup?

The problem is that you need something that will allow you to adjust the flow of the 255 pump. So an FPR with interchangeable bypass fittings, like the AEM or Synchronic unit.
With the 255 you can't turn your fuel pressure lower than 50 psi right now because the flow of the pump is exceeding the diameter of that bypass. I don't think that the unit you're looking at will work.

what are you saying?
I run 42 psi fuel pressure with walbro 255lph,aem fpr, and rc 750cc with uberdata with no issues

how do you like your aem fpr? how old is it? the reason im asking is because someone told me the aem is prone to diaphram failure

The bigger injectors act like a bigger bypass because their openings are larger than the stock injectors. My statement only applies if you are still using the stock FPR and stock injectors. Did you also run the larger bypass fitting on the AEM regulator?
750's are kinda big compared to stock, but for the 310's he's running they may not be large enough to drop the fuel pressure 10 psi at idle under vaccum.

Like I said, I'm kinda biased because I designed it, but the Synchronic FPR is the only one that doesn't use a diaphragm, period.
I like the AEM over the Aeromotive because it can compensate for the pump flow like I said earlier, and I'm not a big fan of the thin mounting flanges on the Aeromotive unit.
Although at the end of the day, both still have diaphragms . . .

I bought it used off here, it seems like the guy used for a while also, and it was in the for sale section for about a year, I've been using it for 7000 plus miles, and before that I was using the b&m with dsm 450cc.
I would like to give the synchronic a try but I dont do any tuning with my fpr, I just set it to stock and tune with uberdata. so it would be pointless to change now.
