Vortech Blow-off-valve
I recently heard of the switchover in the new Revhard kits from the GReddy type-S to a Vortech BOV. My immediate reaction was to try and find the GReddy and swap it out, because it's the one I trust, and I've heard it in person and was happy with how it sounded.
I don't know much about the vortech, though...Does anyone have any pictures or sound clips of it? I'm more concerned with the construction and reliability of it. I was informed that it will be just as reliable as the Greddy, but I wanted to get some more feedback on that from you guys.
Please give me your experiences with the Vortech!

Re: Vortech Blow-off-valve (degradated)
IMO it sounds great, but I use it as a bypass valve on my Vortech kit instead of a BOV. Difference being that it's open during normal driving conditions. So for me it's constantly making a zerishhhhhhhhhhh sound with air sucking sounds as the throttle plate opens and closes during normal acceration. But basically the sounds when letting off the gas between gear shifts or slowing down will be the same. I'm not sure how to describe it, but you can read more about the vortech bov/bypass valve at http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com
Diablo autosports has a video of their customer's vortech sc'd car with vortech bypass valve, search for that if you want to hear it.

cool..thanks for replying people...
Can you point me in the right direction on the vortech site? I can't seem to find the customer car, or info about their BOV.
Keep the feedback coming!

Re: Vortech Blow-off-valve (newsense)
that's good to hear, since I've heard the Greddy in person and I was content with how it sounded. And louder = a good thing. Now that I've heard it does the job just as well, maybe the new Vortech won't need to be replaced..
BTW, Nice engine bay. Wow, that BOV is mounted really low on the intake piping. This must be the new design of the Revhard kits (I've seen other peoples' Revhard kits and the BOV was mounted up much higher)...This actually might be a good thing, because I was worried about interference w/ my Neuspeed strut bar.
Can you link me to where I can look at other pics of your car/engine bay?
