Default Volvo Flange

Hey Guys,

I've found topics that covered this either on this site or turbod16 but most of them were questions on mounting them on HF/STD manifolds and were answered with weirracing adapter plates.

Besides having it sanded down what other options do I have to mount this type of flange? I intend on mounting it to a manifold like BMCRace which uses a traditional T3 flange.

It'll mount but the top portion of the circular part of it sticks out and will leak. Even if I had a round gasket there's nothing to push down on it to prevent it from leaking. I would consider welding it but If the turbo craps out it'll be a pain to remove from the manifold.

If I were to find someone who'll make an adapter plate that is longer and wider but still use the traditional bolt pattern and inlet hole, could I mount that in between the turbo and the manifold with using longer bolts? Basically, I just need the plate to cover the top and bottom portion that is protruding out.

Thanks guys.

BTW, it's off a Volvo 740 (TB03)

Thanks for the reply,

well, i'm looking for something that's stainless steel. I don't think a dremel is sufficient enough. Plus, If I have to pay someone to machine it for me I rather do that than mess with it myself because I intend on leaving it on the car for a while. I don't want to make something that either doesn't fit properly, or blocks any air.

I've already contacted weirracing and bmcrace but trying to see if you guys have any other suggestions.

I just weld the little half moons shut and then plane it flat. I have been running .63 done like this for a long time and have done it for others. Send it to me and I'll do it for you if you want.
