Default VNT turbo and pressure adapter

does anyone know where i can get a "pressure adapter" to control a VNT turbo? on garrets website, they say VNT turbo's can be controlled by the ECU, or a "pressure adapter." i did a few web searches and came up with this site, http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_vnt.html, where the guy talks about using one on his sand rail. there was no contact information on the page, so i can't just ask where he got it. PLEASE! i really need to find where to buy a pressure adapter!

Damn, I tried doing some searching as I have several articles/sites on the VNT turbo but none of them have the info you need.

I keep coming back to the same article you read on the old garage..........

Aren't they just controlled by vacuum?

that was my thought. but apparently they are either controlled by the ecu (stock diesel), or the pressure adapter (aftermarket, upgraded diesel). i think the pressure adapter would work best with an aftermarket setup because it just runs a line off the compressor i guess(thats what i gather from the article). it seems easiest to hook it to the compressor, because no matter the engine, it won't adjust the turbine blades to open until it is moving enough air through the compressor.

with the case of the vnt25 at least(as discussed in that article), the vanes are controlled via the actuator valve on the turbo. There are two inlets, one is for pressure(is connected generally to the charge pipe, before the throttle body) and one is for vacuum(connected to the intake manifold, after the throttle body). The larger of the two ports is for vacuum, the smaller for boost.

The concept behind the pressure regulator discussed in the sandrail website is that basically you're going to take something like a boost controller, and use it to allow boost in to the vacuum line for the actuator.
