Default Vented catch can smell

I recently changed my catch can set up to a vented(to atmosphere) set up from a recirculated setup(pre turbo). When I give her lots of throttle all I can smell in teh car is an oily gas smell which is coming from the vented can. Anyone else experience the same thing?? Normal??

Thanks

Ha that was a good one.(slaps knee repeatedly). I think I might go back to a recirculated style to avoid the stench.

Cheers.

I haven't got a tune yet so I've yet to go WOT but I wonder if I will have the same issue. Last setup the dumptube would expell a little exhuast and it would seep through the bottom of the car so more then likely the exhuast fumes will over power the catch can smell
