Default vafc hack question.

i know that this topic has been beaten to death but never really got a straight answer. i know that the "hack" adjusts the fuel curve but what happens to timing? i thought about this and decided to go w/ an msd 6btm to compensate for that. when i mentioned this on a previous post, i got alot of suggestions that i might as well go w/ a hondata then because a 6btm + vafc would cost about the same as a hondata. i've been saving up for a hondata but i don't think its gunna happen for a while so i'm getting pretty impatient. i already have the vafc and injectors and if i can get the hack to work as reliably as a Hondata i might as well just keep it. any suggestions?
