Default Upgrading the turbo setup..

If I were to start out with a Greddy kit (SOHC), I understand most people want to turn up the boost after a bit.

Aside from building up the block a bit, would you have to change any components of the turbo set up, other than the turbo to go for higher boost?

Thanks..

engine management, map sensor, injectors, and if you don't have one already, a boost controller. that'll be a good start.

I am going to upgrade my greddy kit soon. I bought the greddy 18g kit and now I have built the engine and I want to upgrade the turbo. I already purchased the larger injectors, boost controller, and know I just need to upgrade the turbo. Im thinking of going with a 2871r or the 2876r turbo. Oh and most important of all the fuel management , dont forget that.

Greddy? Most people only run that kit to pass emissions. You dont have your location listed but just as a DEE DEE DEE comment, I wouldnt use the kit if you didnt need to get tested.

the reason I'm looking at the greddy kit is mainly the money factor. I don't have tons of money to spend, and the greddy kits provide some reasonable output for a DD.

I'm not building a track monster or anything, just want a kit for the DD to provide some extra HP..

if you're looking at a Greddy kit for the money factor, then you have a lot to learn. I built my own kit out of new parts better than the ones used in the Greddy kit for less than the price of the Greddy Kit. That kit isn't complete so plan to spend about $1000 more than the price of the kit.

IMHO, build something yourself and save some money....
