Default updates and a little visit from ups

I finally got my parts i ordered in! I just had to share!

They are Custom 9:1 Wiseco made for a DOHC ZC. (ie they have the right piston to deck height)

I bought the turbo off a friend of mine...it was on his 1st gen eclipse GSX. He needs something bigger. Its a garrett t3/t04e .63ar 60trim. It has about 150 or so miles on it so its pretty much new. I also got his hardly used tial 35mm (even less miles) with a .8bar spring he had since he upgraded to a 46mm.

Also in the box was ARP bolts for the ZC, (well for a neon but i had race engeering make me a kit) Nice price of $80! I also have a set of crower rods on order which i hope to get in the next week.

I almost have all the parts i need..just a few more little things. So here is my current setup..

93 civic SI hatch
Hydro ZC tranny w/ Cusco LSD (equal length axles and halfshaft)
Jun flywheel with ACT xtreme clutch
Gen2 DOHC ZC (92 obd1)
Crower Cams (stage 3/4 custom turbo grind. 268/258)
I think im gonna do the LS valve train mod but im not 100% sure what i want to do yet. So im undecied on valve springs or valves.
Golden Eagle Sleeved block
Crower Rods
Wiseco 9:1 ZC pistons
The thinnest metal head gasket i can find.
Garrett t3/t04e .63ar 60trim
Tial 35mm with a .8bar spring
Precision (pte) 31"x8"x3.5" FMIC (painted black..stealth please)
Custom 2.5" intercooler piping
Stock exhaust and cat (dx baby pee shoter tip and everything), but a 3" dump off turbo with an electronic exhaust valve. Hit a button and i have open dump 3" exhaust. Hit it again and its stock quiet. Very cool.

Things im missing are a turbo exhaust manifold, misc oil lines and fittings, engine gaskets, some exhaust flanges, and a fuel system. Pretty much all the little stuff that is a pain in the *** and costs a small fortune.

Im pretty sure im gonna run the afc hack at low boost while i break in the motor and save enough money to blow a cool $1200 on a aem ems (ouch).

Whatcha all think?? Im hoping for over 400whp once i get a real fuel system.

they are made of alluminum so they can't rust. You need some iron or iron alloy (steel) to rust.

What kinda of power do you think you'll have with the temporary hack?
Also, why the thinnest headgasket possible, is this already calculated in the CR you gave or are you trying to bump it up a little?

Awsome man!

Your pistons look almost identical to my JE's other than the ring gas ports.

Kinda Blurry...

sooo did you get that head gasket yet...What did you buy? I've been talking to Sonny about that, and I might just get a cometic.

looks good man! I can't wait to start building my motor up.

Bailhatch:

Im not really sure what type of power on the temporay hack. Im hoping for close to 200whp at low boost. Im going to use a thin head gasket because id like to raise the compression as much as i can. I wanted 9.5:1 but id have to get custom pistons which would take god knows how long to get. Bryson's pistons took him like 5 or 6 months to get. And i totally agree black FMIC =

Bryson:

I havent got a head gasket yet. Most likely im going to get a cometic. Id use a honda one but i think they are all paper which is lame.

ShowCivicHmm:

Yep eg with a zc. Heres a motor picture..

Actually, I was told by sonny that the stockers are a carbon based gasket...a little more sturdy than the paper I'm sure, but definetly not high boost worthy!...well see how much power and time mine can take!

thats what i ment by paper...i couldnt remember the "carbon based gasket" term. Ive boosted 15psi on a "carbon based gasket" on my old z6 (i was cheap they had it for sale for $18 so i was like all good) and it never had a problem. Although it sure did make a mess when i pull the head off later in life.
