uberdata blew my friend's engine!!!!!
NO IT DIDN'T.
IT WAS A NEWBIE MISTAKE TO FIGURE THAT someone elses map would work on yours.
well he blew his
jdm gsr motor last weekend. #! cylinder
setup as follows
b18c jdm gsr
450cc
p28 ecu chipped for uberdata
resistor box
rev hard stage2c kit
8 psi
apexi ws exhaust
testpipe
fuel pressure at 42psi
uberdata 1.66 running
toddfinal11 bin
here
http://www.ecimulti.org/uberda...d=154
it's the 9th post down if anyone can post up the map please do so cause i really don;t know how.
please take a look at that map and tell me what you guys think. it was running flawlessly until it blew. made one pass 14.0 at 98 mph in a coupe. then blew on the second run. was ruinning 93 octane gas.
what went wrong could one on the injector have gone bad they were used

I'll peek at the bin, but I couldn't possibly speculate unless you'de care to offer some wideband readings, or pics of the engine teardown.

LOL. You blew your engine running Todd Stough's tune? Can't wait to hear what he has to say about this...
His fuel should have been more than adequate for a T3/04E, actually should have run too rich under boost for you because you're not as efficient.
I say you had a mechanical failure of some sort, injector, manufacturing defect, something.

You got that from the first sentence of his post, huh? You're a bright one.

it pisses me off when someone slanders a product/service/etc for engine failure,
without even knowing for sure what the cause was. Of course now it clear that
the problem was driving your car on someone elses map. Not only driving,
but racing on someone elses map nonetheless.

I'd buy you a beer, bro, but I'm on the "will race for food" budget atm.

A buddy asked me to post this...
Making post titles like this is hooey. You fucked up and ill now point out a few ways you fucked up. Todd is running an alky setup last time i checked, thus the reason he is running that much ignition timing. You probably blew your engine up because of detonation. You were running a higher CR engine with lots of ignition timing. You didnt check your fueling via wideband to cross reference the difference the exhaust will make. 26.25* at 10.6:1 CR at 8psi on 93 octane gas...that wont cause you to blow ::roll eyes:: Its amazing what people will do with their $3000 GSR engines

ALSO IF YOU GUY WOULD FREAKING READ MY FIRST THREE WORDS
IT SAID[B]NO IT DIDN'T BLOW THE ******* MOTOR IT WAS OUR STUPIDITY THINKING THHE MAP WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO MAKE A COUPLE PASSES ON[B]
NOW PLEASE STOP ******* BEING ASSES AND HELP HAHHAHAH

Yeah I read that, but why would you make a title like that if you love uberdata? You could have just said "I blew my engine" instead.

wow, 26.25* total timing at 8psi is a mad lot imo. shouldnt it have been in the lower 20's?

Did he ever verify the base timing? That could have been advanced also, making his total timing even higher than that.

Re: uberdata blew my friend's engine!!!!! (tvrsir)
wow less than 2 degrees of retard on 8psi on a race gas tune. WHOOOPS
Oh and BTW 98 mph is really slow for a GSR on 8psi, I think you were having problems before that.

like you say...it's a newbie's mistake. he should have read more...and create his own base map. It's safer than running someone else's bin.

Todd here. I'm not sure why you picked my bin out of all the other ones one there. Anyway I'm not sure if timing would play a roll or not. I'm running about 24* at 10psi now and a buddy of mine is running slightly less with no alky injection..
I still can't believe you didn't do any of your own tuning. Did you check the plugs after the first run?

Re: uberdata blew my friend's engine!!!!! (beerbongskickass)
base timing was check,
yeah i should have made my friend blew his motor, BUT THE REASON BEHHINID IT WAS TO CATCH SOMEONE'S ATTENTION, AND ALSO TO HELP PEOPLE UNDERSSTAND THAT NO TWO ENINGES ARE THE SAME HERE.
to todd we did check the plugs at home they looked fine. after a couple of street pulls.
timing did seem pretty high for what we have in the setup.
i'm leaning towards a locked dsm injector.
we'll see he's pulling the engine out this weekend i'll ssee if i can snap some pics.

Re: uberdata blew my friend's engine!!!!! (tvrsir)
per my hondata i'm at 25.5 degrees at 8.6psi, 22.5 @ 12.9. running the standard .75degree retard per psi. my car runs great...
sounds like you had a locked injector. I ran 110@10psi and 115@12psi my last trip to the track.

$300 wideband O2 - too expensive
$5 nokia USB cable - too hard to find
$1 4 pin header - too lazy to order
$1 CDROM audio cable - too hard to cut a few wires
$0 reading
$0 using your brain
buying a new GSR motor because you were too shortsighted to think for yourself?
Priceless.

It's so you can listen to cool car sounds on your computer, while rebuilding your blown engine
It's an optional part of the datalogging set-up.

Damn I am glad that I have a dyno...alot of problems I have been hearing is due to lack of tuning...people get in a hurry..well I am will stay on the dyno for 12 hours if I have too.
