TYPE R (TURBO)
I'm going to be getting a drag III kit soon, now, i'm switching from my supercharger to turbo. here's my question. I did a search but its a hard to find topic.
Ok, i was boosting 5.5 psi, mostly 5psi, until the top end till i lost to about 4psi (overlap in cams) i think,, anyways.
With a turbo, (intercooled) would it be safe to run 7.5-8psi on the street daily with hondata and injectors of course, or should i stay closer to what i did with the supercharger 5-6psi..... Does a Intercooler work that well?

Re: TYPE R (Double 06)
There's not really an exact answer for this question. Some people run 7 lbs. safely while others blow their motors with 5 lbs. It really depends on how much stress the car has endured before the install. How long have you been running the supercharger? It also depends on how much you are willing to risk. You should be ok running 7-8 lbs. with the hondata and new injectors but be prepared for the worst just in case. Running an intercooler will give you a colder charge and decrease the chance of detonation. I wouldnt run a turbo without some type of intercooler. It is ok with a supercharger because a SC is not exhaust driven, and is located closer to the intake manifold so it doesent pass through a hot engine. Be ready for some serious power.

Re: TYPE R (JSpecwest)
yeah the charger has been on for a year and a half. and 14K miles 24K on motor, no serious problems, when i get the car back together (waiting on Intake manifold), i'm going to do a compression test, then go back to the dyno stock and see whats up, If the compression is low or dyno is really less than normal, i'll do some rebuilding before i put the turbo on. I plan on tuning the hondata before the turbo and definetly after.
