Re: Type-R oil pump problems (Turbo92Si)
I had a brand new Type R oil pump in my Civic and after about 30 minutes of tuning and 400 hp, the oil pump gears shattered at 6600rpm. Oil pump gears were shattered, the inside of the oil pump was torn up and my turbo was garbage, luckily the car was shut off after the oil pump blew and the motor is fine.

Are you guys motors balanced the ususal cause of failure of oil pump is improper installation. Do you guys actually open the gaer measure the clearances
Me and tony from jotech have pushed the limits of the stock oil pump for the longest time. Now lately all the drag racers have been switching to wet/dry sumps but before that we never had any issues wit hthe stock ones just letting go.
